The mission of the journal and the thematic axes of publishing the article in it
In talking about the mission of this journal, it is necessary to explain the components in its title. The term "Critical Studies" in the title refers to any attempt to identify and evaluate opinions. Recognizing these views may be a theoretical activity that is possible by re-reading or possibly reconstructing ideas. "Opinions" also refer to the theoretical productions of a thinker or stream of thought or school, especially in a small interpretive context (such as a thinker's opinion on the meaning of a Qur'anic word) or macro (such as a thinker's opinion on the order of revelation or appropriateness of suras and verses).
Finally, the term "interpretation" (Tafsir) also refers to a set of texts that have emerged in the position of understanding the Holy Qur'an and in which an understanding of one or more verses or the totality of the meanings and teachings of the Qur'an is presented; Whether this understanding is reflected in a famous work by the commentators of the Qur'an, or in works that are less known in the Muslim interpretive tradition. Based on this definition of interpretation, we consider any effort in any field of human knowledge that results in representing an understanding of the Qur'an or some of its verses to be an interpretative effort.
Finally, the mission of the research paper on the critique of interpretive opinions can be explained as follows: a) Recognizing and criticizing the opinions of Muslim commentators in the field of various sciences and knowledge - including religious sciences (such as jurisprudence, theology ...) , Geography ...) - Based on new approaches and methods of reading and criticizing opinions in different sciences, b) Applying Quranic studies by creating the interaction of the opinions of ancient Muslim thinkers with different sciences.
