Abstract
Examining the last verses revealed to the Holy Prophet of Islam (PBUH), which is known as "The last thing that come down", is one of the almost constant topics in the history of the Qurʿān. The multiplicity and difference of the sayings of the predecessors regarding the example of the last verse of the revelation is one of the reasons why this issue becomes more serious. The present article, by analyzing the earlier sources, has extracted the narrations related to the introduction of the last verse revealed to the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and has listed all the verses that have been introduced as the last verse revealed. With the hypothesis that the interpretive interpretations and in-text features of at least some of these verses have led to their being considered “The last thing that come down”. In this article, those unique or common semantic features that have given rise to such an interpretation by those who believe in the last verse are highlighted by describing and analyzing the content of these verses. Implicit reference to the end of life as well as the issue of resurrection are among these presuppositions. Finally, it can be said that this hypothesis can be proved not absolutely, but relatively and case-by-case.
