There are different opinions about this interpretation and its interpretation method. Due to the non-comprehensive view of al-Jawāhir and the abundance of natural science content in it, many have not made a precise judgment about this interpretation and its method. With the complete study of Ṭanṭāwī's commentary, the conclusion is reached that Ṭanṭāwī chose the method of employing and applying natural sciences for the interpretation of the Qurʾān, and in fact, he interpreted the Qurʾān by looking at science. From his point of view, the more the audience of the word of God knows about the universal verses of God that are around him, the better he will understand the Qurʾān. Political and social concerns have been one of the most important motivations for Ṭanṭawī to write this commentary. Despite all this, his interpretative thoughts are not free of damage and there are criticisms regarding the basic, methodical and ultimate damage to it. الجواهر فی ‌تفسیر القرآن ‌الکریم نوشتۀ طنطاوی‌ جوهری (1287-1358ق/ 1870-1940م) تنها تفسیر کامل <strong><em>قرآن</em></strong> با روش تفسیر علمی، و از جایگاه ویژه‌ای در نوع خود برخوردار است. دربارۀ این تفسیر و روش تفسیری آن آراء مختلفی وجود دارد. بسیاری به دلیل نگاه غیرجامع به الجواهر<strong> </strong>و فراوانی مطالب علوم طبیعی در آن داوری دقیقی نسبت به این تفسیر و روش آن نداشته‌اند. با مطالعۀ کامل تفسیر طنطاوی این نتیجه حاصل می‌شود که وی روش استخدام و به‌کارگیری علوم طبیعی را برای تفسیر <strong><em>قرآن</em></strong> برگزیده، ‌و در واقع با نگاه به علم به تفسیر <strong><em>قرآن</em></strong> پرداخته است. از دیدگاه او هرچه مخاطب کلام خدا از آیات آفاقیِ خداوند که در اطراف او هستند بیش‌تر بداند، <strong><em>قرآن</em></strong> را بهتر خواهد ‌فهمید. دغدغه‌های سیاسی و ‌اجتماعی از مهم‌ترین انگیزه‌های طنطاوی برای نوشتن این تفسیر بوده است. با همۀ این‌ها، اندیشه‌های تفسیری او خالی از آفت و آسیب نیست و نقدهایی ناظر بر آسیب‌های مبنایی، روشی و غایی بر آن وارد است. https://naghdeara.quran.ac.ir/article_167025_4460240e9921d1ba7b964629ab33bbde.pdf
